Alex Prast is a filmmaker and videographer with a passion for crafting visually compelling stories. Having worked on numerous film sets, Alex specializes in cinematography, directing, and editing, bringing a cinematic touch to both narrative and commercial projects.

Their journey in media production began at CTV 11, Colorado State University’s student-run TV station, where they worked for five years in multiple roles, including Broadcast Engineer, Upper Management, Entertainment Director, and co-creator of CTV Geeks. This experience provided a strong foundation in broadcast technologies and live production, shaping their expertise in both technical and creative aspects of filmmaking.

As a director, Alex has helmed multiple short films, including Insomnia, Present, and the upcoming Playback. Their work blends deep storytelling with a distinct visual style, ensuring each project resonates with its audience.

Beyond filmmaking, Alex possesses a diverse skill set that spans videography, graphic design, prop fabrication, broadcast technologies, and IT. Their ADHD and love for hobby-hopping have driven them to explore various creative and technical disciplines, making them a versatile and adaptable creator.

Currently focused on expanding their professional portfolio, Alex takes on freelance videography, production, and post-production projects. Their long-term goal is to become a big-time director, not only creating the art they envision but also enabling and supporting others in bringing their artistic dreams to life.
